Welsh Language Policy

The OSA is committed to providing key information in print and on our website in both Welsh and English, and to encourage the use of Welsh and English in contributions from members.

As an independent organisation with a global membership, the OSA is not subject to the legal framework imposing duties on public organisations in Wales but we enthusiastically support the aims of those standards, and the use of the Welsh Language amongst our Welsh Speaking members.

Volunteers from the Association’s members and from the University have assisted with translation into Welsh for the Association’s key documents to date, and commercial translation services are also used.

Where news items are submitted only in Welsh or English they may be published directly to the website in a single language whilst we obtain an appropriate translation. Bilingual volunteers to help in this respect are always welcome.
