Webinar: The Making of Agnieszka Holland's Mr. Jones April 21 6:00 PM

" The Making of Agnieszka Holland's Mr. Jones: A Talk with Screenwriter-Producer Andrea Chalupa About Bringing Welsh Journalist Gareth Jones to Film "

Gareth Jones gained a First-Class Honours in French from Aberystwyth University in 1926 before going on to graduate in French, German and Russian from Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1929. On 29 March 1933 in a historic press conference in Berlin Gareth Jones became the first journalist to reveal the existence and extent of the Holodomor, a Soviet-induced famine in Ukraine. Following his revelations, Jones and his professional reputation were persistently undermined and have been the focus of a determined campaign by those who deny the famine ever happened.

Join us to hear screenwriter Andrea Chalupa talk about bringing this story to film in the 2019 Agnieszka Holland film “Mr Jones”.
